1. Point of the Project :
In 612, three hundred five thousands soldiers of Soo from China invaded Goguryeo(37 BC ~ 668 AD). General Eulji-Mundeok by himself infiltrated into the quarter of Soo at the Aprok river and spied on the weakness of the camp of Soo. And the Soos force knew his spying and chased him. General Eulji-Mundeok lured them out to the distance of 30 ris from Pyoungyang City.
As the soldiers of Soo realized that they were imposed, they attempted to escape back to their camp.
But the forces of Goguryeo attacked them from ambush and defeated them at Salsu, currently Cheong-cheon river for the victory over the war.
Wisdom, intrepidity and patriotism of one person, General
Eulji-mundeok, placed our pride as Korean in high and Goguryeo as a grand key nation in the Northeaste Asia.
Japan claims the right to describe as the sea of Japan because 97% of the maps in the world does so. We now need an Eulji-mundeok of the 21st century who has his intrepidity to confront against Japanese claim. It is an activity to confront against Japanese claim by increasing distribution of the maps with East Sea and Dokdo described on in the means of attaching the world map in English describing as East Sea and Dokdo at home, school and work places. |

| Name : Cho, Eulyi, General Eulji-mundeok
Subject Country of Publication : Indonesia |
Story of he Publication: I introduced East Sea to Panji, my first foreign friend. I made case against Japanese claim of Sea of Japan for our water, East Sea.
Whenever I contested, he admitted to understand it but was regret hed never seen even one map describing as the East Sea-Dong-hae. When I sent Panji the world map with East Sea described on which the VANK sent to me, I was so glad to send Panji the map describing it as East Sea, finally.
I received my friends reply about two weeks later since. He told me that he attached that map on main bulletin board of the school because he wanted all the student of his school to see it. Many students asked him the reason to put it on the bulletin. He told that he answered them it is a finest map describing as East Sea, not sea of Japan because it is Korean water. And he asked them to find East Sea, though it might be too small to find easy. And he asked them to pronounce it not East Sea but as Dong-hae and taught them few Korean words learning from me. |

But I showed the website which corrected the name to East Sea from Sea of Japan because of the letter from the VANK and told the behind story of East Sea. She changed a little, but still hesitated to accept it.However she did neither deny my opinion. Later, I made a disk with some case stories of conversion from Sea of Japan to East Sea, because I felt that my teacher still didnt buy my word.As my teacher received my disk, she repeated to thank to me. Since then, we have replaced the world map describing East Sea, no more Sea of Japan.

At that time I learned East Sea as Sea of Japan and I had to write Sea of Japan on examination paper. I tried to explain to my friends that it should be East Sea not Sea of Japan, but I couldnt move them with my limited knowledge.
Three years later, I happened to know the campaign of the VANK to tell about East Sea. I decided to tell about the story of Ease Sea with the materials from the VANK.
I hang the map the VANK sent to me on the classroom for the geography and told the story of East Sea to my teacher. My teacher was very interested to see the map showing East Sea instead of Sea of Japan and he promised me to teach East Sea with Sea of Japan to the lower grade students and allow us to give the answer from this mid-term either in East Sea or Sea of Japan.
